Checking Out Volvo’s New Line of Marine Engines

It’s a tough choice – what engine to pick to power your boat across the water? Everyone has their favorite marine motor brand, but it’s important to stay up on the latest technology and innovations in the industry. In short, we really like Volvo's new generation of power plants. The V6-280 is Volvo’s most powerful V6 engine yet, the V8-300 is incredibly powerful, efficient, quiet and clean, the V8-350 is loaded with premium features, and the Forward Drive uses a new propulsion system that leverages forward-facing technology to deliver amazing results.

This new line of Volvo engines is 20% more fuel efficient than previous models and offer Green technology. The new fuel injection system offers higher torque and acceleration across the full RPM range, making them much more fun to drive and responsive to the throttle control. The motors release 95% less emissions (which make them better for all of us), and the all-aluminum blocks offer 15 % better power to weight ratio. All that being said, you can quote us on this: our choice would be Volvo if we were buying new.
